I’ve decided to try & be a bit more helpful in 2021 & share tips on how I’ve found ways to save money on our days out, this includes theme parks, themed attractions & much more! I hope this is helpful.
Student Discounts:
Calling all students! If you are a student check out the TOTUM discount card. There is often a whole range of offers available across all types of days out. Sometimes you save up to 53%. But also keep an eye out when booking tickets to visit attractions as the majority of them will offer a lower rate for students. Be sure to carry your student ID or some kind of confirmation that you are a student upon collecting tickets too.
Group Savings:
If you are visiting with a large number of people be sure to see what offers are available for groups. Majority of the time there’ll be a decent difference in pricing of a standard ticket to a collective group one.
Product Packaging:
If you purchase hand wash, cereals etc check out the offers that are often on the packaging. Sometimes they offer 2 for 1 entry to selected attractions often Merlin owned, which will reduce the price to half the amount as you’ll be splitting the cost of one entry ticket to two people.
Season Passes:
If you find yourself visiting somewhere more than 4 times a year, the chances are you will be better of purchasing a season pass. Not only do you get unlimited depending on the tier you opt for in some cases, but you often receive discounts which then makes you trips a lot cheaper.
Employee Benefits:
Some companies offer employee benefits that will sometimes include discounted prices of days out & even sometimes season passes. Be sure to check your company benefits & discounts!
Pre-Booking Online/7 Days In Advance:
One of my favourite top tips is booking in advance. Plan your trips a few weeks ahead of the day to receive the best possible value for money online. Often you will purchase a ticket for anywhere between £10-£20 less than face value.
Tesco Clubcard:
If you regularly shop at Tesco don’t forget to sign up to Tesco Clubcard and scan it every time you visit including fuel stops too. All the vouches you gather can give you a certain amount of days out. We used this to visit Oakwood last year & it saved us £10.50 of the final price for using £3.50 in vouchers, which was excellent.
Kidz Pass:
If you are a parent or work within a child based setting the Kidz pass is perfect, it cost somewhere between £1-£2.99 a month. There are so many incredible discounts available for across the UK with this pass that will guarantee to save you several pounds. Oakwood was offering one free child to one adult last season which would save you a decent amount of money.
RCGB:
Rollercoaster Club of Great Britain is a fab club to join as they offer many discounts for several parks throughout the year. It’s £14 to join for a whole 12 months and there are several events you can book onto as well but also many discounts for you to enjoy!
There are a few tips on saving some money on your days out. I hope this is helpful and be sure to share anymore tips that I might of missed in the comments or across my social media accounts!
Thanks for reading as always!
