This is kind of a new series that we’ve started to do. We will be talking about things theme park related. Today’s blog is all about dark rides we feel are underrated and why basically. We’d love to know your thoughts and opinions so feel free to comment below or across our socials. So let’s begin we hope you enjoy!
River Caves at Blackpool Pleasure Beach:
River Caves is such a classic ride & given it’s age the condition is pretty impressive. The animatronics may not be up to the standard of modern ones yet they aren’t the worst we’ve ever seen either. Let’s not lie it’s a tad creepy though yet it’s amazing to have it still operating. Admittedly outside lost its theming somewhere around 2016 time but it still looks pretty decent. We personally love River Caves and during our last visit in March it was running at its best in our opinion. It’s a ride which could do with small improvements throughout but we’d never like to see go anywhere though!
Tomb Blaster at Chessington World of Adventures;
It’s so rare you’d hear anyone say much good about Tomb Blaster which is pretty sad. We find the animatronics inside very impressive and some of the best we’ve seen in all honesty. Admittedly it does need work doing to it as it’s not been running at its best for a few years and audio has been the main issue we’ve found. Yet it’s a real fun ride and something we love to do whilst at Chessington to chill. It’s also a lot of fun for the competitive side. But for us it’s a real underrated ride for the UK at least it looks impressive with life like animatronic movements and is well themed.
Atlantis Submarine at Legoland Windsor:
It’s the only one of its kind that we’ve done and the fact it’s located in the UK is fab. The entire ride is incredible as you get so close to a range of fish. There’s something real special about this ride in our opinion and it’s not raved about enough. It’s beautifully themed outside & inside. You even exit into a well themed shop with a few fish tanks. During your ride there’s on board audio giving interesting facts and information about the fish. It’s definitely an underrated dark ride in our opinion given the unique elements.
Sheriff Showdown at Drayton Manor:
By all means we are not saying it has the fanciest of animatronics or strongest of themes yet it’s a real decent ride. Since it’s overhaul a few years ago it’s made huge improvement to the actual ride. The way it looks now in comparison to how it once did is a massive improvement. It’s a ride we love to re ride and really enjoy especially easier to use guns. For us it’s a real underrated dark ride given the work done to it and how it looks really amazing now.
