As I was putting together the top 5 fastest UK rollercoaster list, I thought to myself will Stealth ever be beaten? Turns out I’m in a debate with my own mind over this. I thought I’d air out my opinions so you guys can also come & join in with yours. Of course this is only what I think and by all means nothing to be taken too seriously. Let me know your thoughts too.
I deep down genuinely believe the answer is yes, this will be topped. I’ll begin with talking about the reasons to why & where I think this will be topped. Oddly enough I do believe this current record might get beaten by a new rollercoaster at Alton Towers. Hear me out. I think Rita will be replaced in the nearby future with a modern & more up to date launch rollercoaster. They of course can’t do height at Towers but they can do speed. If alike for like replacement takes Rita’s spot they could create a long launch enough, perhaps going into the land which isn’t been used and make it pretty fast. By all means I’m not suggesting anything above the 90mph zone. I reckon something along the lines of 85mph pushing 87mph. I’m not all that clued up on physics so that may well be a completely unrealistic idea I don’t know.
The only other park which I think we are in for a chance of seen this is Thorpe Park. I know they hold the record with Stealth currently. But I’m always thinking the new rollercoaster we see at Thorpe Park will be a B&M Hyper. Of course this is my personal opinion & could well be completely off the cards for sure. But if they are able to go high enough they could well beat their own record. Again I’m not claiming this will be bypass the 90mph mark. But somewhere between 81-89mph for sure.
Then part of me also questions whether this will be beaten anytime soon. It’s been 14 or so years since Stealth opened and there’s been no beating that record since. Are UK parks even interested in record breaking anymore? Who knows?
