It’s super easy to talk about any ride which leaves you feeling underwhelmed. But it’s so rare to hear someone talk of those which leave you speechless. This list will undoubtedly be mainly Disneyland Paris based as their dark rides are on a different scale to the others we’ve experienced. I’ll be including some of the ones which amazed me as a child too. I hope you enjoy & I’m super interested in hearing your take on this.
Valhalla – Blackpool Pleasure Beach:
I first rode this dark ride back when I was around 10/11 and it was a mind-blowing experience. The larger scale of effects and scenes were something which left me lost for words. It blew my baby mind!
Ratatouille – Walt Disney Studios Paris:
This is currently the first & only trackless dark ride we’ve experienced. The enhancements it makes on the experience is pretty insane. The way each vehicle has a different take on the story and experience. Not to forget how bizarrely free way the carriages move. It’s all a lot to take in when it’s some of the the newest tech you’ve seen/experienced.
Phantom Manor – Disneyland Paris:
For some reason I had fairly odd expectations of what I had thought this ride was going to be like prior to riding. So the intense level of story telling & theming had left me speechless. I came of and just felt so blown away by what I had experienced. It was a very overwhelming experience.
Pirates Of Caribbean – Disneyland Paris:
Of course we’ve experienced similar boat rides before & seen animatronics before. But this was the first time we’ve seen such life like ones. The theming set-pieces are immense throughout and the first ride we had left me speechless. I couldn’t believe how life like it all looked and felt.
Wallace & Gromit Thrill O Matic – Blackpool Pleasure Beach:
Many will probably see this and think I’m nuts. But I remember visiting during the days when Gold Mine was open. I always felt underwhelmed by that ride experience so once the re-themed occurred and level of theming inside & the general changes made really made me feel so overwhelmed.
Which dark rides have left you feeling overwhelmed afterwards? We’d love to hear all about them!
Thank you for reading..
