So Saturday we drove up to Blackpool to surprise John for his birthday! Turns out we also fell lucky as The Ghost Train re-opened too. It also gave us a chance to grab some rides on the ones we missed during opening weekend. Let’s have a chat!
This blog is more or less highlights of the weekend and talking about the rides we’ve done for the visit time in 2020. As well as discussing any changes! So sorry if it’s all over the place!

Opening a few weeks after official opening weekend but with good reason too. There’s an entire new scene right at the start. Truthfully it’s a beautiful edition. Considering it’s Ghost Trains 90th year the fact they are constantly updating and keeping it modern is fab. There is other changes throughout with new props and better lighting. Honestly if you haven’t already head to Pleasure Beach & have a ride you won’t be disappointed.
There has since our last visit been a tiny change to River Caves. It is definitely an easy miss one as well. But there is a hologram of a jelly fish in the under sea scene. It does seem a very random touch but definitely one which we like. We’d love to see some more modernist touches throughout and gradually it get worked on.

After opening weekend I found myself falling out of love with this rollercoaster. Honestly I’m still not as in love as I once was. It’s fun but just doesn’t do much for me anymore. I’m interested to see how Helix compares in May.
Honestly this is fast becoming my number one in the UK. It’s riding like a dream in our opinion. It’s so much smoother except the boxed turn around. Like we actually had air time on Saturday! It was blissful.

So opening weekend we never managed to grab a ride on either. Avalanche was really fun actually. Usually I don’t rate it but yesterday we had a lovely morning ride, it was running beautifully.
Alice is fab. Just needs the same treatment as Ghost Train and some scenes updated. Not even new scenes just simply the current ones updated to look that bit more modern. The smaller changes outside of the ride looks fab.

Honestly we had a lovely weekend with fab company on Saturday. It was nice to get back on park and just have a coaster fix between now & Towers. Something we hope to see more of once the season fully commences is more PIN BADGES! But all in all it was a lovely weekend and we loved spending it with such lovely people too.
Next stop for us is Alton Towers opening weekend, are you heading there too? If so let us know it would be fab to say hi!
Thank you for reading…
