It’s been a hot moment since I had the time to sit and write up a blog post, yes I know there’s still a bunch going out here on my blogs but that’s because I pre-wrote them ahead of having our daughter! However, this is some news or shall we say potential news for now that just can’t be overlooked! I know it’s not 100% given the green light with respect to the full planning process however the fact that Universal is marking things makes me excited and I believe they’ve actually brought the land. I can only see the future looking bright!
The UK could well be about to welcome one of the biggest chains we ever have had. A Universal theme park potentially opening up in the UK is MAJOR news and would be absolutely incredible for the theme park industry as well as others. Boosting tourism, providing further jobs and for us nerds giving us something that not everyone can be fortunate enough to experience elsewhere in the world. The site that’s been scoped out or brought (not 100% sure) is in Bedford which is North London which is exciting. Of course, the transport links are convenient and will only make visiting the park all that more appealing for many I’m sure.
Personally, I really do believe we will see this park open to the public before or around 2030 assuming all the other finer details between get the green light and go ahead within a plausible quantity of time. Looking across the board at the other Universal Parks it’s apparent some of the IPs elsewhere would suit the UK beautifully, especially the Harry Potter areas. It could well be the best thing to happen to the UK in my opinion and evidently, it’ll only prompt other parks to invest more to keep up their appeal too.
I’m looking forward to seeing what essentially comes from this news and how it’ll shape out to be. I’m confident we’d see some of their popular areas make their arrival relevant for the time of opening. Some of the things I hope we get the same if not similar are the likes of Velocicoaster & Hagrids Motorbike they are two bucket list rides for us at least. Of course, the park will be unique in comparison I have no doubt but those are two things I hope they carry over to the UK version.
What are your thoughts on Universal Park opening in the UK? Do you think it’ll actually happen? What do you think they’ll include in this park?
Thanks for reading & I can’t wait to hear all of your thoughts!
