Typically we wouldn’t ever visit during a sold out at Legoland Windsor. However, we were kindly invited to spend the day at the park ahead of the media event in the evening for their brand new attraction – Ferrari Race & Build… full review of that attraction is linked HERE. So, a massive thank you to both Merlin Annual Pass & Legoland Windsor for having us and gifting us VIP fast track for the entire day!
Getting In:
Of course, it’s a sold-out day so it was a little topsy-turvy getting into the park. But the staff tried their utter best to make it as smooth as possible. We got in within around 10/15 minutes which isn’t all that bad.
VIP Fast Track:
We were kindly gifted VIP wristbands for the whole day which meant we could walk onto all the rides which we were so grateful for. Getting on rides within a matter of 10 minutes was brill. If you’re someone who’s visiting once a year or once in a while having a look at whether it’s a peak day or not could be worth purchasing fast tracks. It was delightful to get back on rides like Fairytale Brook and Pirate Falls especially Pirates given it was a scorching day!
Springfest:
During our visit it was Springfest. Honestly, this event was so visually gorgeous and one of those you could easily get lost within. There was so much to do across the park whether that’s building a Lego flower to add the wall inside The Brick or watching the shows on the little stage. A firm favourite for me was the beanbags in the tent by the stage. I actually loved just catching 5 there whilst there’s so much happening around you like magicians etc. Something else Legoland done really well across the park was photo opportunities for the event too. There was also themed food too.
The Food & Freestyle:
We opted to eat at Pizza & Pasta for our dinner which we haven’t done for a little while. The pricing was fair with the Merlin Annual Pass discount. The variety of pizzas was okay I do think for the pricing there could have been more and the advertised dough balls weren’t anywhere to be seen either. The quality of the pizza was alright it was better the last we ate here but by all means not terrible. We also used our voucher for a Freestyle cup which ended up being the best value of the day. As the weather was incredibly warm we ended up having at least 10/15 refills. With passholder discount, you can activate the cup again for only £6. We also had a few snacks around the park too including trying their brand new sweet restaurant near The Dragon & had a Ben & Jerrys ice cream too.
Overall:
There is something about Legoland that I can’t quite put my finger on why I love it so much. It brings me such joy & happiness. Seeing Legoland put on an event was a first for us and it was truly fab. Considering it was a sold-out day walking around wasn’t too bad at all or at least what I expected it to be. But we had the best day and can’t wait to return again soon.
