Why The UK Needs A Fully Indoor Major Theme Park

British weather is… well it’s straight up crap 80% of the time with the other 20% been purely unpredictable, right? You never know from one minute to another. Therefore, you’d imagine it just makes sense that there is a fully major indoor theme park to escape to? Yet actually we don’t have one, we do have the small Babylon Park in London. But nothing majorly big.

I love the vision of an indoor theme park even more so as it would only make sense to be 365 or at least close to that number as possible. The older I get the less I’m willing to be out there in the cold especially the wet at a theme park. Yet I still am in need of obeying my rollercoaster fix and thrill urges. I know many of you will no doubt nod along to those points above. So, why don’t we have this style of theme park? I believe it would be pretty popular, especially during those winter months and with the right set of attractions. You visit your local theme park on a cold & wet day and tell me how many people you actually see?

This indoor theme park idea I speak off could include a overly themed thrill rollercoaster, the UKs first trackless dark ride and so on. It could bring that interest by presenting ride experiences that aren’t delivered elsewhere in the UK & perhaps even in Europe. It could have those simple to marketing factors to it.

It’s something which I often feel the UK are sleeping on. It would certainly appeal to so many. I do hope in the future we see something like this open which enables the full family to enjoy from small toddlers up to the older generation. Simple rides like an Apple Coaster to a relaxing well-themed boat ride. Even turning into a full resort with the offering of a waterpark, golf course, high ropes, hotels, restaurants etc. I’m not dismissing Babylon Park by any means but I’m just thinking on a larger scale.

What do you reckon? Do you feel the UK has a calling for this style of theme park? I’d love to hear your opinions!
