It’s set to be another extraordinary year here in the UK. There’s something so rejuvenating about heading into a new theme park season in the UK where there’s something fresh to look forward to! So, here are my most anticipated rides for this year.
The Curse at Alton Manor – Alton Towers:
So, last September we saw Duel close its doors ahead of a revamp. It has now turned out to be that this is becoming The Curse at Alton Manor. From what they have teased us with so far it appears to be themed around a doll’s house. It looks very spooky a lot spookier than Duel was. I’m really fascinated and eager to see what comes from this ride and the changes made inside. In all honesty, I have big expectations.
Valhalla – Blackpool Pleasure Beach:
No date has been verified but I’d assume or at least hope to see this reopen for this season. I don’t particularly anticipate big things from inside but either way, it’ll be delightful to see it back open. I have truly missed this ride and can’t wait to get back on board once again.
Mandrill Mayhem – Chessington World of Adventures:
A B&M winged shuttle launch rollercoaster with an inversion about to open at Chessington World of Adventures. Bizarre, right? Quite honestly I’m very excited about it. A tad is unsure regarding how big the queues will get given I’m not entirely sure on the throughputs front. But it looks beautifully themed and after all, it’s a new rollercoaster!!

Megafobia – Oakwood:
After riding Megafobia back in 2020 it’s safe to say I really wasn’t fond of the thing. But this year it’s receiving a 40% re-track from Gravity Group which gets me incredibly excited. I’m sure it’ll be a huge improvement regardless.
Ostrich Stampede – Chessington World of Adventures:
I truly love these sorts of rides. It’s odd to think there’ll be one at Chessington as I usually associate them with being an amusement park kind of ride. But nevertheless, it’s exciting and again it looks stunning in regards to the theming.
Ride To Happiness – Plopsaland De Panne:
It’s on my little to do list given how close it is to the tunnel & not entirely that far away. After all the hype I’ve heard about this coaster I’m eager to experience it for myself! So, hopefully this happens this summer!
Ghost Train – Thorpe Park:
At last we are seen the Derren Browns Ghost Train IP removed as well as the dreaded VR. To then have our in-house Ghost Train with live actors and sensory effects. It’s safe to say I am so excited to see what Thorpe Park have come up with for this attraction. It already sounds like precisely what I had wished for them to do for years!
