Pros & Cons of Nemesis’s Re-Track – Alton Towers Chat

As we are all by now well aware Nemesis is due to face a hefty re-track. The timing of which is still yet to be confirmed by the park. But it is 100% on the schedule. So, why is this a positive thing? I will also include the cons at the very end of this post.

Prolonged Lifespan:

The impending is the prolonged lifespan that will come hand in hand with this kind of work. We will see this stand for at least another 20 & more years to come. Implying there are years & years of memories to be made still. The thought of losing Nemesis was always a sad one.

Smoothness:

Of course, the first factor which everyone should notice is the smoothness. Nemesis isn’t by any means rough in my opinion however that gliding around the tracks will surely be enjoyed.

Potential New Carriages / Restraints:

Brand new track across the majority of the ride I somehow doubt we’ll see the old boy carriages return. Therefore this is only bound to enhance the comfortably & help with the ride experience altogether.

Further Appeal:

The reopening of Nemesis in my mind is going to be huge. It’ll draw in a whole new audience as well as the OG fans I think. Time without it will only lead to the hype surrounding that day we’ll all be waiting for when that beast reopens.

Cons:

With any changes, there’s bound to be concern about what the cons could be. By any means none of which may even arise. But there’s always that probability.

The Roar:

It happens the supports will be getting sand-filled suggesting the chances are we will forfeit that iconic roar that comes with Nemesis. Honestly, that’s the body thing I feel sad about. Nemesis had its temperament and voice within that roar. It’s a minor thing to feel saddened about I know.

As We Know It:

There’s that sense of “meh” about the fact the OG experience is about to come to an end. Yet we have said all along we will feel so privileged to say we had the opportunity to experience it.

Time Without:

When a large project like this comes about it does mean there’ll be a short space of time without the chance of riding. That’s where the days at Towers are somewhat a struggle for us. Nemesis takes a large quantity of our day up when visiting as we can barely get enough. So, having to go without will be hard but I do know it’ll be worth it in the long haul. I much rather go a season without than lose it altogether.
