Last week we headed to Chessington World of Adventures to check out their interpretation of the Mardi Gras event. As you saw from my IG takeover with Merlin Annual Pass there was so much to see & do! Let\u2019s get on & have a chat about this event. This event does end on the 26th of June, so be sure to check it out.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Opening Times:<\/span><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s worth bearing in mind we visited on a Friday during the week. The opening hours, therefore, are commonly longer at weekends. During our visit the park was open between 10-5 which is great for those quieter days. At weekends I believe the park closes at 6 pm.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Audio & Theming:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Chessington are always the one to pull out all the stops when it comes down to events. Mardi Gras was no exception. There was themed audio across the entire park. The only thing which I wasn\u2019t sure about \u00a0was the fact each area had the exact same audio and there is only so much you can listen to identical the loop over & over. Theming again was beautifully spread across the\u00a0<\/span>park. There was so much to see and it did develop this upbeat festival-like atmosphere.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Entertainment:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Each area had their own \u201cKrewe\u201d quite similar to Alton Towers Resort\u2019s Mardi Gras event. They were all themed to suit the theme of that specific area. The costumes were delightful & looked outstanding. Each stage had distinct music from one another which felt odd hearing non-themed audio at Chessington but it worked nicely. The main show (or at least in my opinion) was the one on the \u2018Mane Stage\u2019 and it was the best show I have ever seen Chessington do. It had a good length & felt a lot grander. I\u2019ll be sharing some IG reels & Tik Toks on this side of the event, so be sure to check them out.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Event Food:<\/span><\/h3>\n

As with most events there are often themed food to go with. There\u2019s a little \u2018Mardi Grub Street\u2019 which is where the additional food outlets are based nearby Dragons Fury. The majority of the regular food outlets across the park also have themed items on their menu. We tried their gorgeous cupcake & it was only \u00a31.95. So, there are numerous ways to get into this mood of the event including through your stomach.\"\"\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Overall:<\/span><\/h3>\n

It was a well-produced event with the park feeling completely transformed into a festival-like vibe. The park done an amazing job. As I spoke of above I do wish they had unique audios for each of the areas away from the Krewe stages. It\u2019s an event well worth checking out for all of the family. It is one of those events which the whole family can enjoy regardless of whether you are into rides or not there is just such a variety of shows & things to see & do during your visit. \"\"<\/span><\/p>\n
