After many years of wanting to visit we have FINALLY made it! So, let\u2019s have a chat about the park, operations, food and all things relating to this park. <\/span><\/p>\n

Free Entry \/ Wristband:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Adventure Island is located on the Seafront of Southend on Sea. It\u2019s your usual style of amusement park in regards to entry. There is the option to book online to save on wristband prices or you can pay on the day. We booked online & paid \u00a322.50 whereas on the day it\u2019s only \u00a325. You can pay per ride also. Depending on the ride selection you wish to experience depends on which ticketed option best suits you.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Opening Hours:<\/span><\/h3>\n

The opening hours are a very pleasant surprise with the close time being 10 pm. The park opens at 11am & weekends closes between 8:30-10:30pm. There\u2019s a tower which has a clock showing the actual closing time on the day of your visit nearby the ticket offices.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Indoor Section:<\/span><\/h3>\n

In the middle, I guess you can class it as is an indoor section that includes an arcade, gift shop & select few family rides. The arcade is a spend card only which you get from the desk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Parking:<\/span><\/h3>\n

There is no on-site park for Adventure Island however there is a lot of parking nearby. Admittedly, I think we had stumbled across the most expensive car park possible. But there\u2019s plenty of options available. I would recommend doing some research prior because that\u2019s something I wish we had done.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Queue Times & Staff:<\/span><\/h3>\n

The queue times for a Saturday weren\u2019t half as much as I anticipated. The staff were fab at getting out trains & getting the rides going. On the staff front what a great bunch of upbeat people. Genuinely, they were all exceptionally polite and friendly. They knew how to get the guests excited for each ride. Was impressed.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rides:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Genuinely, there are a lot of rides to experience. Some of them are unusual whereas others are the more traditional style. There\u2019s a total of 5 coasters to get as well. All of the coasters were fun the central thrill was of course Rage. Which Rage deserves a whole blog post to itself. <\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s a couple of dark rides including a ghost train. Again both of them were cute. Of course, the park was made up with 70% flat rides. Some of which were vile Time Machine & others were gentle & fab.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Honestly, there is something for quite precisely EVERYONE to enjoy & greatly together. You could take a 5 year old and do almost the entire park together. But you could also be a couple like ourselves and visit then have a fab time too. <\/span><\/p>\n

Food Outlets:<\/span><\/h3>\n

We ate at the Dinosaur Restaurant which was beautifully themed. The food quality was great & the pricing wasn\u2019t exactly all that much nor extremely reasonable.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Overall:<\/span><\/h3>\n

It was very different to what I had expected but in the best feasible way. There was a lot more rides than I thought and in all honesty the wristband prices are fair which is refreshing to see. Sections of the park had some decent theming and it was so well kept as well. As I mentioned earlier in this post the staff were outstanding & welcoming to everyone which is something in itself that can make a difference in your day. It\u2019s well worth a visit even if you are down South for the Merlin parks add this to your list because you won\u2019t regret it. The fact it is on the seafront means you can finish up your day then take a long walk down the pier or sit on the wall by the beach. The opening hours in themselves are worth a visit & you can even experience the rides at dark!<\/span><\/p>\n
