A month later but we\u2019re finally here discussing some of the UKs oldest woodies. As a huge woodie lover I often find they are one of the things which I am often most hyped to experience when visiting Blackpool Pleasure Beach. There\u2019s something about those less smooth experiences and the fear of a wheel seat that make me chuckle a lot of the time. I do not enjoy the woodie headaches however but they seem to become a less common since the recent work that has happened! So, let\u2019s get into having a chat about the woodies! <\/span><\/p>\n

Grand National:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Recently undergone a years worth of maintenance I believe. I\u2019ll admit the fact I naively set my expectations perhaps too high before riding and anticipated this extremely smooth experience (I was stupid I know). That\u2019s not to say it is rough by any means & I saying it isn\u2019t a HUGE improvement to how it once rode. Strictly speaking, the whole ride is a lot more applicable now it rides well and a lot more enjoyable too. The track layout is stunning I forgot how much I missed it. We visited during an off-peak day and it seemed the wait before dispatch was rather long which is the only reason why we didn\u2019t re-ride. However, Nashy is now my favourite wooden rollercoaster in the UK.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Big Dipper:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Very close to being in my number one spot. It is beautiful. The previous trackwork that occurred did alter a lot on this rollercoaster more than you\u2019d probably comprehend. It rides so well now that it\u2019s difficult to believe it\u2019s 100 next season. I can\u2019t lie the airtime was tremendous during our visit it genuinely gave me a surprise at how big it was I weren\u2019t expecting haha. I am interested as to why nearby the hotels it is so bouncy as it is. But this coaster leaves us both in stitches laughing every time without fail. I can\u2019t quite explain to you how close this is to being my number one woodie in all honesty.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Nickelodeon Streak:<\/span><\/h3>\n

An entire train to ourselves and we were flying around the track. I feel as if this is always a good ride like there\u2019s never been a time where I\u2019d say otherwise. It rides well with those rougher perimeters that you want from a woodie without it being apprehensive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overall:<\/span><\/h3>\n

The woodies are all riding insanely well. It\u2019s delightful to see the old ones receiving the TLC they need to keep them going for even longer. With celebrations such as the Big Dipper turning 100 next year there\u2019s so much to be appreciated. History alone is something worth having love for. I know they aren\u2019t 100% smooth but if they were they would be boring, trust me! <\/span><\/p>\n
