It felt like forever since we visited Alton Towers, yet it was only just over a month ago. I must admit I did book this visit with the intentions of checking out the newest event; Festival of the Thrills but I was a day late. Therefore, it was an event free day unfortunately for us, but we will be back for Mardi Gras later this month. I also have some fab news regarding the Merlin Annual Pass sale which will be shared at the end of this posts.\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be honest about the fact I do not enjoy that walk from the car park to the entrance. Today was a promising day <\/span><\/span>from the get-go<\/span><\/span> with the monorail being open. Exiting <\/span><\/span>onto the<\/span><\/span> plaza and it was nice, easy & timely to get into the park. <\/span><\/span>Simply<\/span><\/span> scan<\/span><\/span>ning<\/span><\/span> your Merlin Annual Pass then you’re in.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Of course, there is security checks as normal but with the number of staff doing the searches it just flows well.\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Once we got into the <\/span><\/span>park,<\/span><\/span> we did our little tradition of heading straight to Nemesis. We <\/span><\/span>must<\/span><\/span> give this some extra loving ahead of the re-tracking that is about to happen. From there we headed to ride Duel which is always a blast (pardon the pun). After Duel & a bite to eat it was time to embark on The Smiler. Some may <\/span><\/span>have<\/span><\/span> seen my tweet about this but wow we had the most amazing ride! We <\/span><\/span>feel<\/span><\/span> lucky <\/span><\/span>to have<\/span><\/span> bagged<\/span><\/span> a<\/span><\/span> front row<\/span><\/span> ride<\/span><\/span> and it was riding pretty <\/span><\/span>amazingly<\/span><\/span> & all told<\/span><\/span> it<\/span><\/span>was a very enjoyable ride.<\/span><\/span> \"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Onto Thirteen next & <\/span><\/span>it<\/span><\/span> was our first time doing front row like ever, believe it or not? I never knew there was <\/span><\/span>a<\/span><\/span>eerie dummy<\/span><\/span> directly in front <\/span><\/span>on the last drop <\/span><\/span>and I genuinely jumped out of my skin! But that eerie moment aside it was yet another amazing ride. <\/span><\/span>Lastly,<\/span><\/span> one of our must do rollercoasters for each visit is <\/span><\/span>Wickerman<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span>Again,<\/span><\/span> it was riding like an actual beast towards closing time. Every rollercoaster & ride we did today were at their best in my opinion.<\/span><\/span> \"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, we had such a lovely and <\/span><\/span>relaxing<\/span><\/span> day. The queues didn\u2019t surpass 65 minutes at the push & for <\/span><\/span>a<\/span><\/span>Saturday<\/span><\/span> that\u2019s good<\/span><\/span>. It appears the Mardi Gras preparation is in full swing which is very exciting. As <\/span><\/span>always,<\/span><\/span> we can\u2019t wait to experience that event in a few weeks. The staff did an amazing job today, especially at keeping queues to the minimum & ride throughputs to their maximum. We can\u2019t wait to return very soon!\"\"<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
