We often tend to dismiss the key factors of our day when visiting a theme park, therefore, I have decided to sit and talk over my favourites of each of those things with you guys! I will be sharing my least favourites too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entrances:<\/h3>\n

The body moment of arriving at a theme park is the entrance. Yet I don\u2019t see many speak of their favourites or leasts. So, that\u2019s an immediate under appreciated aspect of one\u2019s day. But for me, my favourite entrance is a few actually. One of the ones I feel most will least expect is Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Hear me out, I can see how many say it\u2019s dated yet it is just iconic. I can\u2019t comprehend not entering under Noah\u2019s Ark. The whole entrance is an the icon in itself. I adore the Disneyland Paris entrance but who doesn\u2019t? Alton Towers is the final one for me. Again it is just iconic for several reasons and one of which is the key coaster which made history at the park change sat as a centrepiece! \"\"<\/p>\n

Queue Line:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Icon has to be one of the best queue lines as it\u2019s impossible to get bored as you have the consistent ability to watch Icon launch and glide around its tracks. But more importantly, the queue never tends to get close to half an hour on the busiest of days. It moves so promptly.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Ride Audio:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Haunted House Monster Party is the one for me. I will endlessly be humming it afterwards. It just fills me with such joy as it is so uplifting and groovy. You can\u2019t tell me you stand in that pre-show room and not bop along it\u2019s irresistible.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Restraints:<\/span><\/h3>\n

I am a lover of the classic B&M overhead restraints. I don\u2019t ever tend to find them all that restrictive. But my new favourite is the Storm Chaser ones. They are so forgiving, and comfortable and you can see for yourself if you are apparent or not with the clear meter looking sticker next to the restraint. They just fit beautifully as far as lap bars go. As for my ultimate favourite over the head, it has to be Flight of the Pterosaurs. Again another real forgiving restraint that isn\u2019t crushing you into your seat.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Ride Carriages:<\/span><\/h3>\n

I love any carriage which doesn\u2019t mean you have to breath in and squeeze into it for example Colossus. So, I\u2019ll take any over that type any day of the week. In regards to theming I am so besotted with Wickerman and the attention to detail on those beauties.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Shops:<\/span><\/h3>\n

I am a sucker for three theme park shops. The World of Disney at Disneyland Paris. Entering that shop feels near enough to heaven in my books. I adore the Kiss Me Quick shop at Blackpool Pleasure Beach underneath the Flying Machine. You always tend to find it has a broad range of merchandise and is often where you can find a gem amongst the ride parts too. Then of course it just has to be Towers Trading. That shop is the perfect shortcut up the dreaded hill to the entrance and it often tends to have classic ride audio blaring out. More importantly, all of the shops mentioned are simple to find products in too and very clearly labelled. In regards to theming however it has to be Wickerman. It has the strongest by far.<\/span><\/p>\n

Food Outlets:<\/span><\/h3>\n

I have a few on this front (all of which were pre-discovery of my new allergies). For Alton Towers, it has to be Woodcutters or Burger Kitchen. It\u2019s always a tie for me in between those two. Blackpool Pleasure Beach has to be The Wok the chow mein when it\u2019s open is gorgeous. Lastly, the Smokehouse at Chessington World of Adventures is glorious too. All of which are fairly priced and the portion of food often tends to be good for the pricing. If someone from Pleasure Beach is reading this, please have The Wok open more of the time, it\u2019s too good to remain closed most of the time.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Station:<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Wickerman has one of the most detailed theming within a station I can recall that isn\u2019t Disney related. It is often replenished with smell pods, and smoke and the lighting package is ace. It is an extraordinary setting to wait within and notice new bits of theming or areas it\u2019s established each time.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Nature & Planting:<\/span><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s very easy to overlook these touches as the rides across the majority of parks are so distracting from that. But we are so lucky to have such well-kept & groomed planting & landscaping across our UK park. Two of which that springs to mind is Paultons Park & Alton Towers. Both of which offer such stunning views on some of their gardening & nature aspects.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

There are some bits I feel get effortlessly left out of mind when thinking back to theme park days out. These are such applicable characteristics of the day which deserve more acknowledgement. I\u2019d love to hear your thoughts!<\/span><\/p>\n
