A little spontaneous staycation happened over the weekend. We booked this less than a week before our stay that\u2019s how last minute it was haha. We are, of course, Merlin Annual Passholders, therefore, we do attain a discount I believe it\u2019s 20% which then made our stay a lot cheaper. We paid \u00a398 for the night which in comparison to typical prices was a true steal. However, we then added on some further perks which will be discussed further down. Let\u2019s get into our review, shall we?<\/span><\/p>\n

Checking In & Parking:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Checking in process was super simple. You receive an email before which enables you to enter all the details required to check in to save you time on the day. Check-in like most hotels is 3 pm onward & check out is 10 am. Upon arrival you will just have to use the machine to check-in it\u2019ll give you your room number and eject out your room key.\u00a0 <\/span>It is worth noting they do take \u00a35 off your card and will then deduct anything damaged or ordered during your stay. If nothing gets used the \u00a35 does get reimbursed.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

For parking simply head towards the hotels then follow the signs towards the Woodlands Lodges. The car parking isn\u2019t right next door to your lodge unless you are a disabled guest then it is. But there is a short walk to reception and then depending on which lot you are staying into how far from there but it isn\u2019t overly substantial anyway.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Accommodation Itself:<\/span><\/h3>\n

It is one of the most beautifully themed and cosy accommodations we have ever stayed in. The outside offers a balcony with a couple of benches which is always delightful. The entire exterior is stunning anyway.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

The main room had an okay sized television, there\u2019s a tea station, cosy lighting & one very comfortable bed. There is also a book on the bed which I assume is intended for guests to read to their children. All of this room’s theme is impressive.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Onto the bathroom which has a bath with overhead shower and again you are given some small toiletries in case you have forgotten your own. A quite small bath but it\u2019s still a bath & if you are like me that\u2019s all that matters.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

The bunk bedroom has the most amount of theming from the walls to the floor. There is a tiny little window in this room and a fan if it gets too warm which is always useful. Again this is perfect for bigger groups or families.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

As for the whole hut, it kept the warmth lovely there is a thermostat on the wall in which you can adjust the heat easily. It offers all you need if not more. It\u2019s one of those places it is a struggle to leave. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Setting:<\/span><\/h3>\n

There is so much to do for families with younger children. I\u2019m sure every little lot has its own play area. It\u2019s a very relaxed and peaceful setting to have stayed in and it does give that breakaway that is needed from everyday life to embrace the peaceful vibes.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Evening Offering & Dinner Options:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Of course, the sister hotels including CBeebies, Splash Landings & Alton Towers Hotel offer evening entertainment. If you are stopping here and want to encounter the entertainment you can. On-site there is a Restaurant & Tavern for a more comfortable & peaceful environment. You can book a table at all hotel restaurants & of course, the rollercoaster restaurant which is where we ate, review to come.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Additional Paid Perks:<\/span><\/h3>\n

We paid for the evening treat which cost us \u00a312. Truthfully, it\u2019s not something I\u2019d personally do again. The pick & mix was filled with Lidl sweets and I only know that because we buy them at home. You are then given two small pots of Pringles which is great & then two bags of some rather unusual popcorn which neither of us liked. It was almost advertised particularly in the voucher email as if you can pick & choose your treats for the room. However, that wasn\u2019t the case.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Inclusive Perks:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Back onto a more favourable note and the inclusive perks alone are valuable. You have entry to the golf for 9 holes and that golf is incredible anyway. Then in the morning, you have the buffet-style breakfast alongside the entry into the park via the Galactica gate. This perk means you avoid the mass crowds & the dreaded walk to the entrance if the monorail is down. You also receive free car parking which is great for those non-Merlin Annual Passholders. More importantly, you get free breakfast also. The breakfast is a buffet and eats as much as you like style which is brilliant in ensuring you are full before the busy day ahead. I found the food quality and selection to be good.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Would We Stay Again & Recommend?<\/span><\/h3>\n

Yes, 100% I\u2019ve been keeping an eye out for our potential next staycation. It was one of those relaxed environments which are just what you need after the week we both had. For us, it was such a memorable trip especially the duck encounter in the morning on our balcony. It\u2019s one of those places once you stay you\u2019ll want to do it all the time for that feeling of escapism alone. We\u2019d love to stay here and have Loki with us to do some woodland walks I know these huts aren\u2019t dog-friendly but it would be amazing if they were or a few were at least.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

We would 100% recommend staying in this on-site accommodation. Everyone needs to experience at least once. It is a remarkable experience one of which is tremendous too. <\/span><\/p>\n
