Heights aren\u2019t my kind of thing in all honesty. I often tend to steer away from anything remotely high that goes at a slow pace because I know it\u2019ll freak me right out. But that being said this was a pleasant surprise in all honesty. Let\u2019s get crack on into the post shall we?<\/span><\/p>\n

Arrival & Boarding:<\/span><\/h2>\n

Upon arrival, the ticket office is opposite the Eye itself. Very easy to navigate. There is thorough security before joining the queue which is always nice because you know you\u2019ll be safe. There was a short queue before us boarding and there is a fast track lane that Merlin Annual Pass Holders can entitle to use. Upon boarding, I was apprehensive about whether or not the pod would be continuously moving. But for us it stopped. Another important thing to note was the fact we were able to have a pod all to ourselves too. I\u2019m unsure if this would be the case at a busier time but it made us feel more at ease in regards to the ongoing pandemic.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

The Pods:<\/span><\/h2>\n

The pods are as big as they look from afar. There is a bench in the middle which is wonderful for when you get a little nervous about height as I did. They are well spaced out and the glass was clear meaning those photos came out gorgeously.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

The Experience:<\/span><\/h2>\n

In all honesty, the overall experience was so much nicer than I had ever predicted it to be. The cycle is around a max of 30 minutes long which allows you to take your time grabbing those photos and viewing the city. I found the movement that smooth you barely knew you were moving if it weren\u2019t for the increase of height from the ground you\u2019d never know you were moving. Admittedly towards the upper section, it did sway the littlest bit due to the wind but if you were occupied you\u2019d never notice. As someone who fears heights, it wasn\u2019t half as bad as I expected. Don\u2019t get me wrong I refused to look directly down because I knew that would knock me for six. I am forever thankful those pods don\u2019t move or rock because I would never be able to touch the thing.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

The Views & Exiting:<\/span><\/h2>\n

The views were impressive from the moment you begin to ascend. There is a lot to look at and look for from the top. But that steady slow pace it takes allows you to move freely around the pod to ensure you see it all.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

If you like me & you get anxious about moving things and getting on & off then relax about this exit. Yes, the pod is moving but at the pace, it\u2019s going at it\u2019s extremely manageable to hop off.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

The Shop & Overall Thoughts:<\/span><\/h2>\n

You exit into the shop which had some gorgeous bits to purchase. I picked up the 20th anniversary pin badge to join my collection. All of the prices I think was exceptionally adequate for the centre of London it was the last thing I expected was fair prices.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

I loved the experience so much. There\u2019s something so extraordinary about seeing London from such a height. We were so fortunate to catch just as the sun began to set too. If you are scared of heights trust me when I say this is doable with that fear because it is. The staff were all so lovely that we encountered but that goes across the whole of the London Merlin Attractions too. It\u2019s an experience which can not be neglected when visiting, I promise!<\/span><\/p>\n
