Some incredibly exciting news surfaced the other day regarding a fresh rollercoaster arriving at Thorpe Park. It appears on their website they are consulting on a proposal for a brand new rollercoaster in which they invite residents from the surrounding area to attend and share their opinions. Since the starter point of information occurred we have since seen the park confirm over on Twitter that Old Town will not be operation for the 2022 season alongside the fact they have confirmed they are working on a \u201cworld-class rollercoaster\u201d for the future. I thought I\u2019d sit & have a discussion over the likelihoods as to what I think we may see. None of which are facts as the title mentions just my own opinions & assumptions!<\/span><\/p>\n

B&M Hyper:<\/span><\/h2>\n

I have believed for numerous years there would be a hypercoaster to be built at Thorpe Park. It always feels to me like a suitable match for the park. I can\u2019t see a hypercoaster going down the routes of horror as a theme personally. I\u2019m unsure as to what the height restrictions are and if there is any at the park. But if there isn\u2019t I think we could see the UK height beaten by this investment if B&M hyper is the route they take.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Great Coasters International Thrill Wooden Rollercoaster:<\/span><\/h2>\n

I would love to see another GCI open within the UK. Wickerman is one of my favourites. If they were to opt towards GCI I think Old Town would be the perfect positioning for it. But I also think we could see the Buckwheats take over the full area including a re-theme for Saw as well. It\u2019s perhaps everything other than realistic in all honesty. But a Creek Freak related GCI could well be fab for the park as it\u2019s such a well-known & prominent theme. Turning Old Town into a full Buckwheat owned Town could be a fab idea. Although I always say how much I wish the park would have a lighter theme I can\u2019t help but feel intrigued by this potential idea for a themed area!\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

But both of these ideas could well be off the mark and inaccurate. We won\u2019t know until the conference happens for those who are local. I\u2019m delighted and over the moon to see a rollercoaster plan coming into place regardless of what it is. It\u2019s almost 10 years since The Swarm had opened which was their last rollercoaster. So it truly is well overdue. <\/span><\/p>\n
