Last year we visited PortAventura World for the first time. As much as we loved the holiday & parks there was a few things which let it down. We’ll be discussing today everything which we found let it down in our opinion. Don’t forget to look out for our blog talking all the things we loved.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Inconsistency of Shambhala restraints:<\/u><\/em><\/h3>\n

I think this is a running issue as I always see so much on this subject. Some days the restraints were fairly comfort with clicks other days next not all that comfy. It’s really not much use for those with anxiety of this issue. Let alone not been confident enough to know about the days you’ll fit comfortably to days where you won’t. The staff were never too clear with us on this neither. Whilst using the tester seater and asking how many clicks constantly been told your fine but then told they don’t understand English very well it was a little confusing.<\/p>\n

Rides Been Closed:<\/u><\/em><\/h3>\n

During our visit it wasn’t ever made clear on what rides were going to be open or closed. It was something we hadn’t expected to be an issue as such. Yet obliviously it was a new park for us so using the map to find our way around meant that we were walking up to rides which were closed the entire trip but wasn’t made clear enough as to whether or not they were open. Even those rides which were closed it wasn’t all that obvious they were closed or if they would open given the lack of signs.<\/p>\n

Opening Hours:<\/u><\/em><\/h3>\n

We visited the first week in October and it fell to be their Halloween season. Yet online when we had checked the opening hours was something like 10-8pm or 10-7pm. Upon our arrival it turns out those opening hours weren’t accurate and the entire week there the park shut at 6pm. It may be an hour or so difference but it still wasn’t very clear prior to arrival.<\/p>\n

Understand Transport from PortAventura to Airport:<\/u><\/em><\/h3>\n

We had always understood that Bus Plana went to the hotels. Turns out when we were going to the hotels the nearest they got was somewhere in Salou. Meaning we had to find our own way to the hotel in a place we’d never been before. It was a little intimidating but thankfully we had data and could use google maps. If you have knowledge of the area it probably wouldn’t of been all that bad.<\/p>\n

Half Board Issues:<\/u><\/em><\/h3>\n

Again it’s just miscommunication and not very clear of terms & conditions. Nightly we were asked what we’d like to drink which is were the language barrier became hard. The only word we kind of understood was beer and nobody prior had explained to us drinks other than water would be an up charge. So we ordered our drinks completely clueless and all sudden we’d go & get our food to sit back down to a bill. We thankfully began to understand it more towards the end and now know for future visits.<\/p>\n
