As part of the Merlin Annual Passes Firsts for 2021 campaign, we thought we\u2019d join in with sharing some of our firsts too. Since the re-opening of the theme parks, we have managed to visit all but one of them! So, let\u2019s have a chat about our firsts across the Merlin theme parks.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Theme Park:<\/h2>\n

The first theme park of 2021 for us was no other than Alton Towers. It is, of course, our local Merlin theme park but it\u2019s also our happy place. Visiting Alton Towers is always a magical experience. It\u2019s safe to say we can\u2019t wait to return again very soon!\"\"<\/p>\n

Thrill Rollercoaster:<\/h2>\n

Our first thrill rollercoaster of 2021 was The Smiler. It was a refreshing change to our annual tradition of the first \u2018thrill\u2019 rollercoaster of the season being Oblivion. It turned out to be one of the best rides we have ever had on The Smiler and we even managed to grab a front-row ride, we all know that\u2019s the best row right?<\/p>\n

Family Rollercoaster:<\/h2>\n

The first family rollercoaster for 2021 was in fact Dragons Fury! This coaster never fails to surprise but impress me. It is easily one of my all-time favourite family rollercoasters and I can never get enough.\"\"<\/p>\n

New Ride for 2021:<\/h2>\n

The first new edition for 2021 that we have experienced was Croc Drop at Chessington World of Adventures. I absolutely adore this ride and haven\u2019t been able to stop thinking about it since experiencing it. The whole experience it has to offer is out of this world. You are instantly immersed in the experience as soon as you enter the queue line. The entire package that is presented alongside the ride experience is fab. It\u2019s the perfect combination of fun with pops of thrills for all the family to enjoy.\"\"<\/p>\n

Water Ride:<\/h2>\n

As Alton Towers was our first theme park of the season, our first water ride was, of course, Congo River Rapids. It is always nice to have a rest from all the walking whilst enjoying the fun but relaxing on the rapids. It was also lovely to see the latest editions of theming across the ride itself.\"\"<\/p>\n
