As with anything amongst theme parks you&#8217;re going to love some and dislike others. So I thought I&#8217;d sit and have a chat about those dark rides that don&#8217;t quite do it for me personally. As with any list of this kind, it is purely based on my opinion and by all means, not facts. I can see why others may enjoy these rides for the record.<\/p>\n<h2>Hex &#8211; Alton Towers:<\/h2>\n<p>It&#8217;s just best I get this one out of the way really. Before anyone comes for me, I understand why it&#8217;s loved by so many, however, it&#8217;s not my cup of tea at all. I never rode it prior to the TLC a few years back but heard a HUGE amount of hype surrounding it. I instantly got swooped into this energy of it will be the best thing since a slice of bread. Yet it just disappointed me. I guess the first ride we had we were a bit taken back by how well put together it is and had the realistic side of the story which makes it stand out alone too. It is also quite unique for that reasoning. But after I&#8217;d say around 5 rides it became stale. We visit quite often too so no doubt that hasn&#8217;t helped the situation at all. The atmosphere is the one thing I do love but the main thing I dislike is how loud the audio usually is inside the second room. It is just unnecessary. However, if we visited less than we did no doubt we&#8217;d enjoy it a little more. As for the ride itself, for whatever reason, I find it horrendously intense. It knocks me for six after riding and it&#8217;s the only Madhouse to do that too. I assume it&#8217;s the scale of it, I don&#8217;t know. I find the carriages quite tight which probably comes down to the fact it&#8217;s &#8216;family&#8217; based. However, I just think so much more could have been done with the theming throughout this ride. Don&#8217;t get me wrong it&#8217;s themed well but going by the standards of recent investments with dark rides it could have been a whole load better. When you look at the surrounding dark rides like Ghost Train &amp; Wallace &amp; Gromit and see the condition they are kept at, especially Ghost Train that receives regular updates &amp; TLC, it&#8217;s almost hard not to feel as if Alice is one of the weaker dark rides in the park. Once Valhalla re-opens as well it&#8217;s going to make more a draw to the need of TLC Alice truly is in need of. It doesn&#8217;t need extreme work doing to it neither it is just a simple touch up and modernising of the scenes then it&#8217;ll be easily good to go. It is one of the creepiest rides I have ever done and I am not joking either. There&#8217;s such a lack of theming inside (talking a few years ago now) that every little tiny noise is amplified and the audio usually is broken or mega loud and even more creepy. It is traumatic and that&#8217;s that.<\/p>\n<h2>4D Cinemas:<\/h2>\n<p>None in specific but 4D cinemas as a whole are something that I just don&#8217;t enjoy. Once I did think they were fab but as they have aged it&#8217;s become less appealing to me really.
