I remember my school handing out the letters and I wanted to cry with excitement. It was my first visit ever time heading there. I had no idea what to expect and nor did I have a preview of the rides via the monorail, as we arrived by coach. Heading through those gates and no rollercoaster or ride in sight built up such anticipation (I sure wasn’t disappointed neither). I had no idea what these rides looked like or involved except Thirteen & The Smiler. Me & my friend kept walking left from Towerstreet. Stumbled across the likes of Runaway Mine Train, The Flume etc. We ended up in Forbidden Valley. I remember stopping and just looking like wow these coasters are quite so different to what I’ve seen elsewhere (excluding Nemesis). But this park had this pure beautiful feeling surrounding it. I felt a sense of love for coasters like I never had before this visit. I remember heading into X Sector I looked at The Smiler and couldn’t believe how big it was. There was track just everywhere and I looked at Oblivion with utter shock I had never seen a drop like it. Alton Towers filled me with nothing but unusual feelings during this visit I found myself feeling a sense of passion like never before. Afterwards I was filled with sadness that I wasn’t there every day.
