We\u2019re halfway through our Halloween plans and have experienced over 15 scare mazes so far! Let\u2019s do a mid-spooky season roundup of our top 5 scare mazes so far!<\/span><\/p>\n

5)) Shriek Easy – The Howl<\/span><\/h3>\n

A beautifully themed and theatrical performance throughout this maze. Unlike other scare mazes that immediately go into the scare maze section, this has a gradual buildup. The actors were brilliant throughout. The scare maze section was great admittedly the finale could have been done with being stronger. But the rest of the maze was great.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

4)) Contained – Scare City <\/span><\/h3>\n

The first maze of the season for us and it was quite the start. This was truly horrid on so many levels. The intensity of the actors was extraordinary. The finale was the absolute standout for us it was really intense, loud and just pure chaos. There\u2019s something about army-like characters & gas masks that triggers quite harsh fears in mazes for me too!\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

3)) DeadBeat – Thorpe Park Fright Nights:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Oddly enough this wasn\u2019t the maze I expected to be a highlight but it absolutely was. The last night on earth club theme doesn\u2019t sound scary right? But the actors use their space so effortlessly that it\u2019s unimaginable not to have continuous jumps throughout. There are so many creative tactics used to give scares the glass panel floor above with the actor is a standout moment of the season so far. Really adored this maze and all it had to deliver.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

2)) Glitch – Tulleys Shocktoberfest <\/span><\/h3>\n

Brand new for 2025 and an admirable replacement for The Cellar. Glitch is extraordinary and a unique theme you don\u2019t often see. The characters you meet along the way either blend in far too well into their room or have disgusting masks on. The jumps were fierce in here. It\u2019s one of those mazes that we can\u2019t wait to see evolve across the years!\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

1)) Diabolus Visum Mortis – Doncaster Fear Factory<\/span><\/h3>\n

A horrendously terrifying scare maze. It\u2019ll take a lot to beat this level of fear we had. The initial part of the maze is like a hooded maze without the hood but you have the rope and pitch black setting. It\u2019s themed around nuns and the scares were outstanding throughout. The finale was absolutely GRIM. The variety of statues of actors was far too tough to differentiate and I\u2019ve never screamed quite like we did throughout this experience. Everything about it was so wrong yet so right with the scares!\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Honourable Mentions – <\/span><\/h2>\n

The Edge of the Forest – Alton Towers Scarefest:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Anyone who\u2019s been to Scarefest over recent years will know it hasn\u2019t been great by any means. However, this brand new maze is brilliant. The decaying throughout the maze and duplicated scenes just getting more weathered as you go is great I found. The jumps were vile in here. It\u2019s one of our favourite mazes the park has had since The Attic opened all those years ago. I know not everyone likes this maze but it has so much potential and I really hope the park uses it to their benefit for coming Scarefests.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chop Shop – Tulleys Shocktober Fest<\/span><\/h3>\n

Chop Shop is ALWAYS grim but this year I\u2019m not sure why the actors were quite as vile as they were. I\u2019ve never been held up by a wall so many times by chainsaws. It\u2019s probably the most scared I\u2019ve ever been in any maze. Just absolutely lethal!\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Shelton Motel – Doncaster Fear Factory: <\/span><\/h3>\n

I absolutely cherish this scare maze. It\u2019s new for Fear Factory this season & this is how Motel \/ Hotel themed mazes should be done. The actors were absolutely terrific and the way they delivered the storytelling but also the scares were great! It\u2019s a maze I\u2019ll always think about how incredible it was and it\u2019s definitely one of them where you get quite lost up in the storytelling.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

So far this season has been outstanding. There have been so many tremendous moments, scares and pretty much every single actor we\u2019ve encountered has DELIVERED<\/strong>! We have so many more events to come I\u2019ll pop a list below of what to expect and we can\u2019t wait to see how they compare & share our overall top 10 mazes at the end of October!<\/p>\n
