I\u2019m that gal who truly adores wooden rollercoasters in all their glory and always has been the same for me. I find them quite edgy, rebellious and that\u2019s what creates the fun in my opinion. For the record, there\u2019s definitely a line that can be crossed to the point it just becomes agony and not enjoyable to ride anymore. But why do woodies need that ruthless touch to be good?\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

I can\u2019t enjoy a smooth wooden coaster the same I enjoy those who fling me out of my seat and rattle me around like I\u2019m some ragdoll. Maybe I\u2019m weird I don\u2019t know. I look a woodie and I expect some level of fear whether my bones will be in one piece by time I hit that brake run. Of course, there is a limit if it\u2019s creating true agony then that\u2019s not enjoyable and something needs to be done. I\u2019m talking more of those woodies that just rock you side to side with that tad bit of force, offer ejector airtime and that oddly amusing bounce when going in a straight line.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

For me, those that are tamer and not particularly got that edge make me feel quite bored. It takes away that thrill and excitement in my opinion. If I wanted to ride something so smooth I\u2019d sit on a Big Apple coaster. There\u2019s one which comes to mind that demonstrates what I\u2019m trying to say clear as day and that\u2019s Rollercoaster at Yarmouth Pleasure Beach. If you get a cautious brakeman you\u2019re going to be in for a smooth, relaxing and lacklustre ride experience. However, you get someone who is a little fearless on the brakes you\u2019re going to have the best ride.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

I know this is quite subjective between us all but I can\u2019t be the only one who needs a woodie to give me that comfortable level of roughness. Let me know your thoughts!<\/span><\/p>\n
