I may not be able to physically experience any scare mazes this year but I thought why not keep the Halloween season alive over here? So, I thought I\u2019d discuss 8 of the scariest UK scare mazes I\u2019ve experienced from 2022 and prior. Some of these no longer exist sadly whereas others perhaps may have seen improvements for this season. But let\u2019s have a little talk about them and rank them. PS there were so many it was tricky to restrict it down to 8. <\/span><\/p>\n

Chop Shop – Tulleys Shocktoberfest<\/span><\/h3>\n

Chainsaws in galore and yes that\u2019s something that strives to terrify me. The sound and smell of chainsaw set my heart meandering. Again the actors are ON you in this maze they don\u2019t hold back you\u2019re lucky to have an empty space in here. The finale is never-ending and probably one of the most long-winded climaxes to any maze and that\u2019s okay if you can tolerate about 15 chainsaws at you.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

The Attic – Alton Towers Scarefest<\/span><\/h3>\n

Dolls & the Demon. I will never quite recover from either of those two components of this maze. You literally head into an attic as well which is intimidating alone after the pre-show that creepy staircase leading you up to the start of the maze isn\u2019t cool. The dolls within this maze are something else especially how they move towards you. If you haven\u2019t already look at some behind-the-scenes of this maze as that alone looks vile.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Creek Freak Massacre – Thorpe Park Fright Nights:<\/span><\/h3>\n

The Buckwheats have to be some of THE best characters to ever be created for any scare maze. Whoever Thorpe Park employed for those characters had to be some of the most talented out there as they were unhinged. This maze never failed to make me uncomfortable to enter just not knowing what route you were going to take, will you stay with the group? It truly was something else. They had no level of chill about them at all and that\u2019s exactly what I adored about the maze. You didn\u2019t know which way they were gonna touch you if they were above your side of you or behind. It was a thorough horrendous experience that will eternally be missed.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Sleep Experiment – Screamland Margate <\/span><\/h3>\n

I will never forget the moment we walked past a mattress and saw a morph-suited man escape from it with these horrendously long nails. It was rough. This entire event had some insanely strong mazes I\u2019m so sad they never do Halloween anymore.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Love Hurts – Screamfest Burton<\/span><\/h3>\n

The fact you enter the maze through a toilet cubicle is ludicrous but unsettling too. This was an extraordinary maze it was all I ever hoped it to be. I was grabbed, I was terrified and there was a feeling of awe at how it all panned out. The finale was somewhat fierce though I hate stops in mazes but even more so when a chainsaw dude comes charging at you.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Bunker 41 – Walsall Scare Maze <\/span><\/h3>\n

I\u2019m talking about the first time we ever learned Walsall Scare Maze Existed. Just came out of lockdown and felt confident it\u2019ll be a tame experience because of that reason. Yet it was the polar opposite. It was traumatic on every scale. I\u2019ll never forget being grabbed, pulled, tickled and thoroughly terrorised whilst half our group was detached. The original room they placed you where you didn\u2019t know where the door was going to be to continue was the moment I knew this was going to be strenuous. It was epic and last seasons Maze was great too but didn\u2019t quite compare to this one.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

The Village – Xtreme Scream Park<\/span><\/h3>\n

I\u2019m sorry but everything about this maze is vile. The setting & scenes themselves assemble a hard tense environment. Some standout moments that forever live in my mind are the school scene and the ending. Nothing has quite corresponded to those two moments of pure horror. The length of this maze has always been long and quite honestly it\u2019s not like you even catch a breather during either. Every corner, every new scene and every second you can\u2019t settle you are on edge about what\u2019s going to happen next or pop around the corner.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Creepy Caves – Chessington Howl\u2019o\u2019Ween <\/span><\/h3>\n

I\u2019m talking back during the OG Creepy Caves days still the ONLY scare maze to make me a blubbering mess at the end of it. How I ever entered another scare maze after this experience is beyond me. We were a group of 5 but got separated to the point it was just me & Ant. Let me tell you I thought a scare maze at Chessington that\u2019s a terrific way to get into them and find my feet. It can\u2019t be THAT scary. I was drastically wrong. When I tell you these actors grabbed us, pinned Ant against the wall and terrorised us more than any other maze ever has I\u2019m not joking. Ant was the only person not crying in that evil last room. I\u2019m convinced we ended up being the trail for Creepy Caves after dark if I\u2019m honest. That maze has always had this refined terror hold over me to the point I\u2019ve always struggled to get back inside. However, I\u2019m gutted it\u2019s gone in the same sense.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n
