We were kindly invited by the team at Blackpool Pleasure Beach to visit and check out the brand-new 2023 Hot Ice show. A huge thank you to them for providing us with complimentary tickets to see this show in full. <\/span><\/p>\n

From here on may include spoilers. All opinions are our own and not impacted by the fact we were invited. Additional information regarding the show will be at the end of this blog. I apologise in advance for the absence of technical terminology for those skating fans!! <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

The Duration: <\/span><\/h3>\n

Depending on the time you choose will then depend on the length of the show you\u2019ll get. If you go for the afternoon showing it\u2019ll only be the first half of the full show meaning it\u2019s 50 minutes. Whereas the evening show is the full two hours with 20-minute interval. For me, I feel if you sway towards the afternoon showing then possibly you\u2019ll leave wanting me more because during the interval that\u2019s surely how I felt. The full show is fantastic and what I\u2019d suggest personally.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Soundtrack & Lighting:<\/h3>\n

Hot Ice always has such an amazing and more notably distinctive soundtrack. Each dance has its own audio which is well-produced and often catchy too. The story is beautifully portrayed through the audio alone. The lighting of the show really emphasised the mood of each dance and grabbed the feeling flawlessly. The transitions between each change were ace as well\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Costumes & Skaters: <\/span><\/h3>\n

The costumes are so exceedingly thorough, particularly on the ladies, it\u2019s really exceptional. With the lighting shimmering of the costumes as well it really does produce a glamorous impact. Each dance had a distinct outfit which made those brief costume changes very impressive but the way the costumes fitted the vibe of the audio and what\u2019s been illustrated within that performance really does make this shows something memorable. The skaters were all absolutely phenomenal? The way they glided so gracefully around the ice was enchanting. Some of the tricks they did as well were so impressive and demonstrated how insanely talented they all are.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Effects & Storytelling:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Although I found the storytelling felt a little difficult to follow in some areas the exceptional skaters and additional effects made that all fine & forgivable. It allowed me to indulge in the moment with further effects like fire, projection mapping on the screen, bubbles, and snow it truly did have it all. There\u2019s not a point where I think it\u2019s likely to be diverted by anything else other than what\u2019s happening in front of you. The show isn\u2019t just prohibited to the ice it also happens in front or around you depending on where you sit. The skaters do pass by the crowd from different angles there is a lot to look at which is tremendous but can be difficult to know where to watch at all times. There’s a lot to take in.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Highlight Moments: <\/span><\/h3>\n

For, as a ride nerd, I adored seeing a bit of the park implemented into the show with the Valhalla section. The next highlight for me was the finale it was so colourful, joyous, catchy and epic in all honesty. It really was THE moment to end with for sure.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Overall:<\/span><\/h3>\n

I\u2019m not someone who commonly watches this kind of show but yet again I walked out of the arena amazed. There are some elements of the show I don\u2019t entirely understand for example the bathtub scene it often feels quite out of the blue & random. Perhaps that\u2019s a filler to get the remainder of the cast prepared for the grand finale which would make sense. The presentation is stunning for sure there\u2019s no taking away from that. It\u2019s always unforgettable to hear the audio that gets precisely created for this show as it\u2019s always amazing. The skaters are so skilful and merit so much praise. It\u2019s a show well worth watching I would advise the full show too for the price you can pay up to it\u2019s absolutely worth it given the duration & more to the point the quality of it all.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

The show is running from now (July) all the way to the 9th of September. The only days that are unavailable are Sundays. Otherwise, it\u2019s two shows daily. Pricing varies from \u00a310 to \u00a332 online. There are various choices available with regard to seating or standing options. Food & beverages are also available to purchase from the main arena area for the show itself. As well as toilet facilities inside the area with the men\u2019s been on the left-hand side and women\u2019s on the right in the corners as well as in the voyage too.
