Ah Tulleys is the place I always look forward to returning to every year. It will always deliver in one or another and it truly is just a staple to have booked into your Halloween season. This year was the biggest yet with a brand new scare maze and changes made elsewhere. So, let\u2019s have a chat about the mazes & our experiences with them. <\/span><\/p>\n

Thank you so much to the team at Ed Hopkins PR for inviting us to attend Shocktoberfest this year it\u2019s truly appreciated. Also, just a quick note this blog is purely based upon our experiences and as with any scare event it can differ from individual on each run of the mazes. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Island – 3.5\/5<\/span><\/h3>\n

This maze has come on leaps & bounds in comparison to last year. The fact it\u2019s shortened down I think has improved it alone. It felt as if there were actors pretty much everywhere barely any dead spots which are refreshing compared to prior years. The flooring is so still scary in itself mind. I\u2019m still rather confused why there is a chainsaw at the finale but I had some extraordinary jumps in here!<\/span><\/p>\n

Doom Town – 4.5\/5<\/span><\/h3>\n

The rating is strongly based on how stunning the theming is. I can not believe there\u2019s a whole town that has been built in such a small space. The transitions between sets felt so real as if you were heading into these shops genuinely. As for scares, I had a respectable handful again nothing too drastic but that was subsided by the gorgeous theming. All actors we did experience were fab but perhaps in the future, it could do with a few more. Also, let\u2019s acknowledge the queue line and entrance how stunning. One the thing not so stunning was the gut-wrenching smells. VILE! As a whole, though this has to be the best visual maze we have ever seen & experienced.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Creepy Cottage – 5\/5<\/span><\/h3>\n

Oddly enough a highlight maze of the evening for me all thanks to the actor who managed to scare me 6+ times, you were ace thank you! This maze is such an underdog and has been for years at that. The sets, theming & audio all create this spooky vibe one of which genuinely scares me anything that involves dolls or creepy girls that\u2019s it for me. Actors weren\u2019t holding back it supported the fact there was hardly anyone heading through at one time. A truly tremendous maze that deserves more credit.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Wastelands Penitentiary – 5\/5<\/span><\/h3>\n

Disgusting! I fully crapped myself in here. We headed in with a small group but ended up as a two. The actors were coming from places you\u2019d least expect and the sets again as eerie as every other year. But the truly terrifying aspect of this maze is the strobe finale. That strobe didn\u2019t come to play and that alone is truly traumatising.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Electric Circus – 4\/5:<\/span><\/h3>\n

What an improvement on Twisted Clowns? I truly fell in love with this maze. I can\u2019t recall how much change has happened to the sets without the major one being the 3D glasses. This maze was revolting for animatronics & dummies that alone was petrifying! The actors knew how to use their space entirely as well. It was crazy so much happening all at once which had us on our toes. I\u2019m so glad to see a clown maze remain but this the new theme was something else! Easily one of the best mazes for us now.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Haunted Hayride:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Oh isn\u2019t this fun? It\u2019s the perfect mixture of jump scares, laughter, spooks and theatrical vibes. The actors & actresses are just outstanding. It\u2019s one of those unique attractions you don\u2019t typically find elsewhere and the space it has is used so effortlessly well. I never really find it needs any changes nor improvements as it does the job perfectly.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Coven of 13 – 3\/5<\/span><\/h3>\n

Previous years we have always come away with these being one of the weakest mazes. However, this year felt a massive improvement in comparison. It was filled with actors like more than we\u2019ve ever seen in this maze. My one fault would have to be the fog. Honestly, again it was too much to the point it was quite hard to catch any air. This maze never truly has been one to scare us all that much but the fact we came out with a few jump scares was enough. The actors & actresses really did try their utter best in there but the group ahead did not help the situation by any means. It was fun which alone is better than before.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Chop Shop – 2\/5 <\/span><\/h3>\n

Is it me or has this maze been cut incredibly short? I\u2019m not entirely sure if it has or hasn\u2019t. But it certainly felt that way. So, chop last year was one of the strongest for us yet this year it was the polar opposite. We led the maze meaning on paper we should have had the best experience but it just felt a tad too short. There was lots of ace actors in the first section up until the lengthy chainsaw section where we only saw 2. Normally that area is filled with actors and chainsaws. Don\u2019t get me wrong we had a few really decent jump scares but nothing in comparison to other mazes.\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n

Overall:<\/span><\/h3>\n

It was amazing to be back at Tulleys and honestly we\u2019ve came away more in love than ever before. The quality of the likes of Doom Town are something we\u2019ve never seen before. As much as we find Tulleys to be a tad more theatrical than absolute terror scary it was amazing. It has to be the best set of actors & actresses they have ever had in the years we\u2019ve been visiting. All of them gave it their all and remained in character at every given opportunity where they could have broke. The atmosphere as well was the best we\u2019ve ever known. Forever will be impressed with the team behind this place and can\u2019t wait to visit again next season!\"\" <\/span><\/p>\n
