Perhaps I’m bias due to the sentimental value of the park to me. It holds so many special memories, milestones & years of memories I could never NOT love the park. However that aside looking at the ride offering etc it’s almost impossible to not acknowledge it as one of the best family based theme parks. Of course, this is purely my opinion and view on what makes a decent park.
Drayton Manor is super affordable. A lot of parks today have their tickets ranging between anywhere between £30-£60 (I’m speaking on online prices, ps I’m unsure on how accurate that is). However I feel as if Drayton Manor always think of families as well as other guest. The 4 for £90 can genuinely be really handy for families. Not to mention the other outlets where money is involved such as shops, food outlets etc it is genuinely VERY affordable.
Okay, I know we all sometimes have a moan there’s not enough “thrill”. But let’s really have a look at it. Maelstrom, Air Race, Shockwave, Apocalypse they are all such fab rides to name a few. I know G Force been removed is something which has upset many but nobody knows what’s the plan is for the future. Therefore I’m really open minded on the situation and excited for the future in that respect. The family offering is perfect. You’ve got the attractions for the braver children like Accelerator, Bounty, The Haunting etc. Then you have the offerings available for the children which are too old for Thomas Land but too young for the other middle rides, so the likes of Sheriff Showdown, Buffalo, The Train etc. Of course, for the youngest age ratings you have Thomas Land.
All in all theres enough rides on offer at the minute to fulfil everyone’s needs & for all ages. I know a lot of regulars are wanting to see more thrills which I’m here for of course. Yet as a yearly day guest you’d probably be content with the said rides. The fact Drayton Manor have been giving their rides & attractions TLC like Sheriff Showdown & The Haunting is something. I personally love the line up as much as I’d love to see more added I’m also patient on that front due to simply been pleased with said rides.
Genuinely and I’m not just saying this to proof a point from the title. But Drayton’s Fireworks & Christmas events are genuinely VERY high on my list. Both of the events work so beautifully & blow me away every time. I know the ride offering is mainly family/junior based for Magical Christmas the event is so well put together I always have equally as good of a day as I do on the average summers day. The fireworks are my ultimate guilty pleasure. I am generally so in love with this event. The only event which could be better but I can see what they are trying to do, is their Halloween. It’s perfect for those aged for Thomas Land and that’s genuinely it.
Something I love about this Zoo is the fact it’s incredibly rare you’ll walk around & not see some enclosure or something been improved. The animals do look happy as well.
The best food outlets at any park in the UK. Each outlet is top of its game. There’s not one outlet across the park which I can think of which I don’t rate. The food quality, quantity & pricing is perfect. It’s not too expensive at all.
We personally haven’t stayed in the hotel due to living too close so it makes it pointless. However the outside looks beautiful and the pricing from the times we’ve looked to stay seems reasonable. The fact there’s a finance option available again feels as if it’s catering for everyone.
I genuinely do believe this is the best family park within the UK. But that’s not to say I can’t see where improvements could be beneficial. However overall I do think the line up of rides is perfect for everyone. Regardless of your age or preference there’s something at this park for you. Of course, the lost of rides over the years has been sad and it can feel gutting even more so without those location been filled again. I’ll forever hold out hope we’ll see something in Pirates Adventures spot. Those who read my blogs and know us will understand how important Pirates Adventure was to where I am now! I am genuinely VERY excited for the future of Drayton Manor & genuinely have full faith there’s nothing but fab stuff on the horizon! I think patience is a big aspect going forward when it comes down to future rides & developments.
Of course, this whole post is purely my opinion & by all means not facts as such. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this too.
