Okay, I’ve shared a few theme park related hotel reviews but I thought I’d share some non theme park ones. Of course we do use this hotel fairly regular whenever we visit Pleasure Beach which is over the road. But I’m going to be discussing the hotel in general. I hope this is helpful & you enjoy.
Location:
The location is in our opinion quite perfect. If you wish to explore the north end of Blackpool it’s a simple tram journey which there is a tram stop by the water park opposite the street this Travelodge is located on. It’s opposite the Pleasure Beach and a 5 minute walk from the Velvet Coaster (Wetherspoons).
Car Parking & Breakfast:
Parking can definitely be a pain. The onsite car park is extremely small and sometimes very hard to park in. As for parking charges are £8 for 24 hours therefore it can be fairly expensive. If you don’t find a space in the car park, the street opposite the entrance is free to park on. Therefore you may be able to get a free space. If not there’s a large car park opposite at Pleasure Beach where you can pay for a certain amount of time.
Breakfast is unlimited and you can book it included in your room. I believe it’s around £8.99 each. Personally we had breakfast once and didn’t necessarily enjoy it and much prefer the local Wetherspoons.
Double Room & Family Room:
A double room is lovely. The bathroom does not come with a bath usually and you get the basic tea & coffee facilities inside the room. The TV is usually a fair size. The beds are extremely comfortable and overall they are beautiful rooms.
We often pay for a family room when we go away with Tomas. So you can have 3 adults into one room. The bed arrangements are often a camp bed or single bed as well as a double. These rooms often include a bath. Everything is still super comfortable and not much difference except the extra room & bed.
This hotel does not have any air con therefore in the summer it can be quite warm. Usually they leave a fan in the room which does help keep it bearable. Other than that you can get lovely views from the rooms depending on the side of the hotel you are.
Price:
Pricing can be unbelievably cheap. We once managed to stay in the hotel for 3 nights for £100 mid week. Of course if your looking at times where it’s late opening for the Pleasure Beach or half term it does tend to be a little more pricey. But all in all if you book in advance your bound to have yourself a bargain.
Overall:
We (me & my partner) love to stay in this hotel whenever we can as we love to visit Blackpool. For what we go to Blackpool for it’s extremely useful. You can access every attraction so easily from the location. The rooms are so lovely it’s easy to stay in and feel fully relaxed with the TV size and noise levels elsewhere. We’ve hardly had any issues within this hotel or if we have any problems the staff are always so welcoming and helpful.
